This chess set brings together many of the ideas that continue to run through my work, exploring movement, material, and the table as a site for interaction.

The board is constructed from reclaimed building timber, cut and reassembled while retaining existing markings, codes, and painted surfaces.

The pieces snap into place on the board, held by magnets until the moment they are moved, introducing a tactile and kinetic response to play.
